“I’m pleased to say the mallet arrived exactly on time and I have had some good events to get used to it. I am very pleased with it. As I am quite short my back swing is also quite short and I find the extra weight gives me extra power in clearances. I found the peripheral weighting of my old mallet difficult to control in the back swing, even though the experts say that it should lead to better control. This might be due to my lack of strength. I really like the feel of the centrally weighted mallet. For some reason I often found my stop shots would ‘jump’ and I couldn’t find a stance to alter this. Now my stop shots hit well and are very powerful. Initially I just couldn’t make my jump shots with the new mallet, but it is coming back with practice. Changing the position of the shaft has improved my grip. It fits into my hand very well now… I am really looking forward to next year with my new mallet.
